The project took an exploratory approach whereby the first stage of the project, data collection, will determine the scope of the later stages. The project started by investigation of the current state of the art innovation practices, and how these are applied in industrial companies. The project then looked into the innovation policy support and instruments, and investigate their effectiveness in supporting industrial innovation and meet the needs of companies. This information are used for policy recommendations for future policies. The project developed a toolkit for the replication of the study at a later stage.
